What is Meditation? 

Meditation is a practice which helps one calm the mind and remain in the present moment.  There are many types of and techniques for meditation.  Practicing meditation can help increase one's self-compassion and compassion for others.

How Can Meditation Help Me?
There are many scientifically proven benefits to meditation including increased compassion, decreased stress and anxiety, improved body functions such immunity and digestion, and lowered blood pressure and cholesterol. 

Is Meditation for Me?

Almost everyone has the ability to focus on the present moment - even if for a few seconds.  When we have gotten used to living with an active or overactive mind, it can be difficult to think about trying to quiet it.  There are so many ways to meditate, and it can look different for each person.  It may take time to find what works best for you, but it is possible for most people find benefit from some type of meditation.*
